Violence Prevention Leadership Recognition

Urban Gateways was established as a leader in violence prevention as the only arts organization selected as a Chicago Public Schools “Culture of Calm” provider, and was also designated as a lead education partner in Chicago Community Trust‘s Arts Infusion violence prevention initiative for high-needs teenagers.

CTA Adopt-A-Station Recognition

The Chicago Transit Authority recognized Urban Gateways for adopting a station on the Midway Orange Line and installing a public art piece created by students participating in Urban Gateways’ Art Options program, a summer arts apprenticeship program for Chicago-area teens.

Membership Requirements & New Arts Forum Structure

Membership Requirements Members must display a commitment to arts education and local artists and institutions. Members are expected to attend at least 50% of the quarterly meetings.
