Instructional Programs include Residencies, Workshops, and Professional Development, all of which are led by experienced Teaching Artists and all available both in-person and virtually.
Our Instructional Programs allow young people – as well as families, community members, and educators – to continue growing and developing their creativity in any learning environment, whether in-person, remote, or hybrid.
We first engage all potential partners in conversation to begin developing a program designed to support each unique community’s vision and needs. Our team then works to match each program with the appropriate Artist(s), who add their own specific expertise, resulting in an impactful instructional program for the participants and partner.
We are now offering in-person instructional programs; however, as COVID restrictions and learning environments continue to shift, all areas listed below are also available as remote or hybrid options based on safety protocols, scheduling, and Artist availability. Fill out our inquiry form and a member of our staff will get in touch to kick off the conversation!
Instructional Program Areas:
Every Urban Gateways program is designed around the unique creativity and educational practices of individual professional Artists. Learning content for Urban Gateways programs is customized to reflect the skills of the Artist(s), input of the Partner, and the interests of program participants. Urban Gateways will engage the appropriate Artist(s) for a program according to their area of expertise, as well as scheduling and availability. Arts activities, lessons, and projects as well as themes, topics, and learning standards will be determined by the Teaching Artist, informed by a collaborative planning meeting between the Teaching Artist(s) and Partner.
We offer bilingual programming in Spanish as well as other languages dependent on artist availability, and many of the artists we work with have experience leading programs that focus on specific cultural art forms. Please contact us to inquire about bilingual options and programs focused on cultural arts!
