Anniela Huidobro Castro

Anniela Huidobro is a Mexican dancer, choreographer and dance educator. She graduated from the Mazatlan Professional Dance School (EPDM), directed by the Delfos Contemporary Dance Company. She received the PECDA Morelos Grant in 2015 and 2018 (Mexico). She has 10 years of experience and has performed and taught workshops in different countries such as Brazil, Chile, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia and different states of Mexico. She currently resides in Chicago, teaching dance classes in different schools and Cultural Centers in the Chicago area. In 2023 she taught two workshops in the University of Chicago dance community, she performed at the Delve Dance Showcase (Chicago) and at the Newport Dance Festival in Newport, RI.

She is part of the Continuum teacher network, a training system developed by Omar Carrum in Mexico. She mixes contemporary dance, break dancing, contact improvisation and floor work in her training classes. She is a dance artist interested in creating environmental awareness. Over the past few years she has used art as a tool to talk about the importance of water.
