Newly Appointed Directors Bring Expertise to Urban Gateways Board

CHICAGO, IL (October 15, 2019) – Urban Gateways is pleased to announce the appointment of two exceptional executives to their Board of Directors. Urban Gateways is proud to welcome Abdur Nimeri and Patrick Talano.

ABDUR NIMERI, PhD – Head of Institutional Multi-Asset Programs, Northern Trust

Abdur Nimeri comes to Urban Gateways with experience in financial services. He has been involved with several Chicago-based non-profits ranging from early child education to college access. Nimeri said, “As a long-term Chicago resident, I am excited to be part of an organization focused on the preservation and expansion of arts throughout various Chicago communities. Chicago remains a culture hub that infuses the arts and pressing social issues aimed at improving communities and finding commonalities among its residents. Urban Gateways remains at the forefront of expanding this rich arts culture in Chicago and building the vital bridges to ensure its future.”


PATRICK TALANO – Vice President of the Global Tool Business, ITW

Patrick Talano is a Vice President at ITW, where he leads the Global Tool Business for the Construction Products segment. In his career he has developed expertise in marketing, sales leadership, and product innovation. “I am extremely honored to join the Urban Gateways Board of Directors. Urban Gateways’ mission to engage young people and inspire them in the arts aligns strongly with my values,” said Talano. “The earlier we can make a difference with the youth of Chicago, the greater their impact on their own future and the future of others.”
