For the month of July, 11 selected students spent their days studying, discussing, and analyzing contemporary films and film theory at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts during Urban Gateways’ Art Options film apprenticeship program. Students at Southside Occupational Academy worked with teaching artist Jesse Avina in 2015 and 2016 over the span of two residencies, in which they explored the styles of many different artists in hands-on projects.
