1pm event
2pm show
3:15pm talkback

The Goodman Youth Arts Council (GYAC) invites Chicagoland teens to a reception followed by a performance of “Until the Flood”, a new play by Goodman Artistic Associate Dael Orlandersmith about race relations in the aftermath of the police shooting of Michael Brown. Stick around after the show for a talkback with GYAC and a Goodman artist!

Pulitzer Prize finalist and “one of the country’s top talents for solo performance” (Time Out Chicago) Dael Orlandersmith explores the social unrest in Ferguson, Missouri following the shooting of teenager Michael Brown. Pulling from her extensive interviews with Ferguson residents, Orlandersmith crafts a “fast-paced, imaginative” (St. Louis Post-Dispatch) theatrical experience that demonstrates “the potential of art to reach across cultural boundaries and bring us all closer together” (Theatermania).

This event is companion ticket eligible; teens who sign up for the TAP program can buy an additional $5 ticket for a non-teen companion (sibling, parent, etc).
