TAP Launch Event: 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas

Urban Gateways is excited to announce that Teen Arts Pass (TAP) has launched as of May 1, 2018! Through TAP, teens can experience live arts performances all around Chicago for only $5. Signing up is free!

We are celebrating TAP’s launch throughout the month of May with special events hosted by our program partners. Check out this event with Lookingglass Theatre Company:

Come hang out with the Young Ensemble for free pizza and soda, and hear about our show “20,000 Leagues Under the Seas” from a Lookingglass artist/designer!

When a terrifying sea monster is spotted off the coast, renowned scientist Professor Aronnax and fellow explorers set out to investigate. They soon find themselves kidnapped and held under the command, and spell, of the mysterious Captain Nemo. As they circle the globe aboard the most advanced submarine the world has never seen, they confront giant squids, bizarre sea creatures, and the monsters that lurk below…and within.

Adapted from Jules Verne’s epic adventure exploring the murky perils of the seas, Ensemble Member David Kersnar invites you to board the Nautilus and “Dive! Dive! Dive!” into this Lookingglass World Premiere.

This event is companion ticket eligible; teens who sign up for the TAP program can buy an additional $5 ticket for a non-teen companion (sibling, parent, etc).
