We hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and well!
Thanks for checking in on us. With schools and community spaces closed due to the spread of COVID-19, we are saddened that we have been unable to share in-person arts programs with young people at a time when they likely need inspiration the most. However, we are pivoting and adapting. New virtual arts learning and performance programs are underway with school and community partners; Street Level youth are hosting live performances on Instagram Live, working on film projects, and staying connected with staff and with each other; and Teen Arts Pass is hosting its TAPtalks series twice a week on Instagram Live, as well as keeping teens connected with virtual opportunities from our arts partners. Urban Gateways and Teen Arts Pass will also host a Virtual Teen Arts Leadership Summit on Saturday, June 27, which is free to anyone ages 13-19. (Registration for Virtual TALS is currently open!)
Still, due to the loss in program revenue as well as the cancellation of our annual fundraising Gala in April, it has been a challenging spring.
We appreciate your support as we continue to engage young people in virtual arts programs. Not only do the arts allow us to create, but they encourage us to heal, hope, and envision a brighter world and a more equitable future. Young people deserve the opportunity to engage in the arts now more than ever.
