Virtual Professional Development

Virtual Professional Development inspires educators and others who work with young people by providing them with tangible options for integrating creativity and the arts into youth-oriented spaces.

Virtual Professional Development programs are workshops (offered live or pre-recorded) with an arts-focused curriculum designed and led by a Teaching Artist. The theme or focus can be customized to support the school or organization’s goals and will be rooted in dance, media arts, music, theater, and/or visual arts.

As part of our trauma-informed approach, Urban Gateways offers professional development opportunities that focus on self-care and address the compassion fatigue often experienced by youth workers and educators in various settings. Please let us know if you are interested in a Virtual Professional Development program focused on self-care!

Virtual Professional Development details:
  • Sessions are 1-3 hours in length
  • A Virtual Professional Development session can be a standalone experience or part of a series of up to 4 sessions
  • Formats include live via Zoom, pre-recorded video, live integration into existing virtual learning platforms (eg Google Meet), or a combination of these
  • Well-suited for educators, school administrators, and any other group working closely with young people

If you are interested in working with Urban Gateways to provide Virtual Professional Development through the arts, fill out our Instructional Program Inquiry Form or contact us at residencies@urbangateways.org.
