Residencies
Urban Gateways Residencies build collaborative partnerships between Teaching Artists and schools or community-based organizations, providing meaningful exploration in the arts.
A Residency is a series of sequential arts learning sessions that include one or more professional Touring Performances (Virtual or In-Person when conditions are considered safe) that serve as a connecting anchor work for Teaching Artists to lead participants through an exploration of an art form or theme, with direct instruction in dance, music, theater, literary arts, visual arts, or new media.
Residencies can take place during school hours (In-School Residency) through which Teaching Artist(s) partner with one or more classroom teachers or specialists, or Out of School Time (OST) with Artist-led instruction before or after school hours with staff or faculty present.
We are now offering In-Person and Virtual Residencies: PROGRAMS
- In-Person Residencies are recurring sessions that are available for in-school, after-school, and community-based settings. In-person residency sessions are typically scheduled in two hour blocks but the length can be customized for the partner.
- Virtual Residencies are recurring virtual sessions that are typically 15 to 45 minutes in length per session, with formats including live via Zoom, pre-recorded video, live integration into existing virtual learning platforms (e.g. Google Meet), or a combination of these. Check out our Virtual Residencies video to learn more!
*Please note in the comments if you are looking for Virtual or In-Person programming and our staff will reach out to discuss.
