Support Touring Performances on Giving Tuesday!
November 28, 2017
Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday….GIVING TUESDAY! Each year the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, people all over the world turn to nonprofits and charities close to their hearts and make donations in the spirit of the season. It’s a great way to remember that there are many kinds of gift-giving. In our case, your #GivingTuesday gift supports arts programs that bring young people new inspiration and new perspectives.
On Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2017, our goal is to raise $3,000 to support Urban Gateways Touring Performance programs. Through our touring performances, some of the best Chicago dance, music, and theater artists travel to schools, libraries, and community venues to provide engaging live arts experiences for young people. $3,000 can provide up to seven (7) touring performances so that a partner organization (for example, a Chicago school) can fill their calendar with a variety of performances throughout the year – from hip hop to improv, Indian dance to Latin jazz – that open young people’s minds to new art forms and the diverse world around them. We have 49 different shows for partners to choose from, something for everyone and for every time of year!
Young people in Chicago often have limited access to arts opportunities due to a variety of factors, ranging from lack of school funding for the arts to transportation barriers in accessing arts + culture. That’s where we come in. Make a donation on Giving Tuesday to help us bring the magic of live performance to more young people in our city. We appreciate you, and so do our young audience members!
