2021 is Urban Gateways’ 60th Anniversary and we’re ready to get the party started! Join us on Thursday, January 28 at 7pm CST for the kick-off celebration of our 60th birthday year. Hosted by ABC7’s Samantha Chatman and co-hosted by Street Level’s Shane Calvin, with cameo appearances by special guests, this virtual celebration will spark inspiration, highlight our history and mission, and set the stage for a year-long calendar of 60th Anniversary events.
See the Urban Gateways arts community in action with performances by Touring Artists Nelson & Paola Sosa and Teaching Artist Lady Sol (Leyda Garcia), plus Street Level alumni rapper Chaos Network and DJ Aced Spade. We’ll even be joined by founder Jessie Woods’ granddaughter and Associate Board member Anna Warner to take a historical look at what Urban Gateways has represented for the past six decades.

BONUS: 6:30PM COCKTAIL CLASS, live on Instagram!
Our Associate Board is getting in on the fun; tune into Instagram at 6:30pm before the Birthday Bash for a live custom cocktail class with Associate Board Member Rosie Schultz (@punchdrunkrosie) to make a ’61 Smash, in honor of our founding year! Ingredients: Bourbon, lemon, fresh mint, blackberries (fresh or frozen), sugar or simple syrup, club soda, ice. (Rosie will also walk us through substitutions.)
