John Lowell brings an entrepreneurial spirit to the Board of Urban Gateways with experience in data-driven technology startups, data analysis, audience segmentation and activation, and developing powerful creative fueled by human understanding. John leads The Core – the Research, Data Strategy, Data Science, and Technology teams of the Leo Burnett Group, which is powering the transformation to data-driven creative. John’s previous positions with Starcom and Arc Worldwide include work with well-known clients McDonald’s, Visa, Whirlpool, United Airlines, General Motors, Disney, P&G, Diageo and Kellogg.
John holds an MBA from The Managers Program at Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern with majors in marketing, strategy and technology. He received his B.S. in Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. John spent seven years serving in the U.S. Navy as a surface warfare officer, which exposed him to cutting-edge systems for collecting, processing, assessing, and disseminating intelligence in real time.
