Jakari Earl Joined Street Level as a Creative Editor in 2022. He was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and is a filmmaker and advocate. He got his start making backyard indie films, series, and reality shows at seventeen. He has worked in human rights advocating for causes like youth homelessness and refugee rights, and he received his community health worker certification in 2019.
He was a finalist in the 2021 Chicago Track Script to Screen Pitch Competition. He creates mission-driven films and has worked onset of “Chicago Fire”, Apple TV+’s “The Shining Girls”, and Showtime’s “Work in Progress” as a Background Actor and Production Assistant. He was the Assistant Producer for “Bermuda” (SAG short film).
In addition to having served as Development Coordinator with Free Spirit Media and Peer Mentor with Inspiration Corporation, He was recently contracted as a Consumer Direct Marketing Project Manager with Nike Chicago, where he hired community leaders and influencers to motivate movement in the city.
He started at Street Level as an apprentice in the Multimedia Journalism program in 2020, then Social Media Consultant in 2022. He plans to attend college in 2022.
