The Evolution of Ballet

Performance Type:

Become an active participant in the evolution of ballet as Elements Contemporary Ballet journeys from classical ballet to today's contemporary style. By observing the changes from classical "crown and tutu," to Balanchine-inspired neo-classical dance, to Elements' contemporary movements focusing on earth, water, fire and air, audiences learn how to distinguish between the styles and intentions. By examining these different styles, the audience is given a window into the life inside a ballet studio through exploration of the training and the creation of choreography, and the students even find themselves becoming a part of the process themselves.
