Art for All Gala presents live music, dance, magic performances from Chicago students & artists

When: Friday, March 20, 2015 – 6pm to 10pm
Where: Modern Wing, Art Institute of Chicago – 159 E. Monroe St.

Urban Gateways is excited to host its annual Art for All Gala in the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago for the second consecutive year. ¬This colorful evening of cocktails and dinner, incredible live performances, and exciting live auction prizes helps Urban Gateways to bring more high-quality arts programs to more Chicago youth. The beautiful, art-filled venue brings the cause fully to life.

Chicago R&B male vocalist group The Remedy, seen on America’s Got Talent, leads this year’s performance lineup. The four musicians of The Remedy grew up in high-poverty neighborhoods on Chicago’s south side and found music through a determination to discover something better for themselves; they call their music “feel good music”. See them performing in the Chicago subway. >>

Performers will also include jazz trio The Second Hand Three (featuring Urban Gateways teaching artist Michael Riendeau), Urban Gateways touring group Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater, Urban Gateways touring magician Walker King Jr. (The Spellbinder), and Urban Gateways students performing West African Music & Culture with teaching artist Josh Guy.

Urban Gateways delivers high-quality, accessible arts experiences that advance students’ personal and academic growth. Professional artists engage Chicago’s youth in arts activities that build essential skills like creativity, collaboration and innovation, and improve their self-esteem and confidence necessary to succeed in life.
