Artist Bio

Steve Gibons, Chicago Jazz violinist and leader of Gypsy Rhythm Project, is a regular at the Green Mill and otherChicago jazz venues. Gibons' wide ranging experience includes performing and touring with Alfonso Ponticelli and Swing Gitan, Victor Parra and the Mambo Express, the Chicago Klezmer Ensemble, The Classical Arabic Oriental Ensemble, and Bulbul Arabic Ensemble. Field recordings he made on trips to Southeastern Europe form the basis for some of the arrangements this ensemble plays.
