Kimberly Schomburg

Kimberly Schomburg has been a dancer, choreographer, and teacher in Chicago for the past six years. She started dancing at the age of four, trained with several performing arts studios, and graduated from Michigan State University in Communication with a Dance Specialization. Kimberly is in her third season with Chicago modern dance company, think/dance collective. She has performed as both an independent artist and company member in  several Chicago venues and festivals such as Dance Chicago, The Church of What's Happening Right Now, New Dances-Thodos Dance Chicago, Dance Union, A Choreography Showcase, The Woman's Performing Arts Festival, Around the Coyote, with musical groups Younger and Laura Dunn and The Ghosts of Xmas Past, and several think/dance collective self-produced shows and events. She is currently teaching ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, and ballroom dance with Urban Gateways in Chicago Public and Private Schools. She is also teaching ballet, jazz, modern, and hip hop for Design Dance studio. Kimberly has taught several ballroom dance styles in Chicago Public Schools for Having A Ball, and was the Dance Coordinator for South Shore Cultural Center.  Kimberly is currently choreographing a modern dance piece with think/dance collective that will debut in the fall of 2011.
